Pop-up hotel brilliance

Professionalism and flexibility at its best

One of SherpaCleans, key business partners Altido, convert four high end university accommodation buildings, in Edinburgh, to affordable summer hotels.

Four “Pop-up hotels” in Edinburgh

Contracts were signed late, only two weeks before opening of the four hotels, all in Edinburgh city centre.

In total nearly 735 on suite bedrooms are provided for a seven-week period that spans the world-famous Edinburgh festival.

SherpaCleans assembled a dedicated team of over 40 staff, led by Derek Gordon (SherpaCleans property services manager), including supervisors, porters, and room cleaners, to flexibly operate across the four sites, seven days per week, non-stop.

Student suites to hotel rooms

The team helped with the conversion of the accommodation, from student suites to hotel rooms, performed an initial deep clean and made the rooms guest ready in less than 3 days per hotel. A remarkable effort!

Over the seven-week operating period, the SherpaCleans team have performed more than 9000 room change over cleans, providing linen, toiletry packs and disposable items to each room.

All communal areas, corridors, lifts etc are also cleaned every day.

The project has been a huge success with very high occupancy rates.

“Altido affordable” accommodation

Great value in Edinburgh city centre.

The SherpaCleans team, have developed digital reporting tools, shared in a completely open-book manner, with Altido management; to enable daily tracking of activity, bookings changes and hours used at each site, each day.

A remarkable effort and a complete digital record of the whole project.

Top People, flexibility, professionalism and digital records, the SherpaCleans approach to a project.
